Hun – The city of Hun is preparing to launch the 30th edition, known as the “Golden Edition,” of the International Autumn Tourism Festival on October 22, under the slogan “Our Autumn… Continuous Giving.” The event will feature participants from the cultural, heritage, arts, and tourism sectors.
Bashir Yahya Drawil, a media office member of the festival’s community committee, said preparations for the 30th edition are underway with local organizations and institutions taking part. He emphasized the significance of this year’s festival, which marks three decades since its inception.
Drawil explained that the Autumn Festival began in 1996 as a celebration of desert products and arts. Over the years, it has evolved into an international cultural and tourism event. The festival now highlights the region’s cultural, social, and tourism heritage and serves as a platform for exchange and connection among Libyan cities and regions.
The golden edition will offer a rich program of traditional, cultural, artistic, and tourism activities, including heritage exhibitions, showcases on dates and palm arts, visual arts, photography, book fairs, handicrafts, as well as folk shows, equestrian events, traditional games, evening gatherings, and cultural forums.
Drawil confirmed that the festival’s community committee is accepting participation from institutions, local organizations, residents of Hun, and anyone interested. He invited contributions and initiatives to further enrich the festival’s program and highlight Hun’s cultural and tourism heritage.
The 30th edition continues a legacy spanning three decades during which the Autumn Festival has maintained its place as a key event celebrating the distinct cultural and social heritage of Hun and its surrounding region.
