Benghazi – The University of Benghazi has resumed its master’s program in forensic medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, after a suspension that lasted since 2006. The university held an entrance exam for applicants, marking a step towards restoring academic and specialized training in this field.
Najiya Al-Barghathi, head of the media office at the university’s medical faculties, told Al-Anba al-Libiya newspaper that the entrance exam was conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Faculty of Education. She explained that the exam is a crucial stage for selecting qualified candidates for the master’s program, following established admission requirements.
Al-Barghathi stated that restarting the program after nearly 20 years is a significant step for postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine. The program aims to prepare qualified scientific and professional personnel to work in forensic medicine and to support institutions that require specialized expertise.
She added that the decision to resume the forensic medicine master’s program is part of the university’s broader efforts to develop postgraduate studies and open new academic fields for those seeking specialized education. This move is expected to enhance qualified capacities and meet the needs of institutions involved in this specialty.
The return of the program follows years of interruption and comes as part of the university’s efforts to expand and improve postgraduate programs, strengthen academic disciplines, and better prepare medical professionals to serve the needs of the community.
