The UAE and Qatar announced on Wednesday the interception of missiles and drones. These originated from Iran. This marks the fifth day of Iranian attacks on the Gulf region.
The UAE Ministry of Defense stated on platform X that its air defenses successfully dealt with three ballistic missiles. They detected 129 drones. 121 of these were intercepted. Eight drones fell within UAE territory. Agence France-Presse reported this information.
Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced the interception of two cruise missiles and 10 drones. These also originated from Iran. Saudi Arabia declared it intercepted a drone attack. The attack targeted the Ras Tanura refinery. This followed a previous attack on Monday. Concurrently, an oil tanker off the UAE coast was hit by debris. The debris resulted from an unknown projectile.
In Kuwait, the army announced it countered a wave of missiles and drones. These were detected in the country’s airspace. Alarm sirens were heard in the capital. Iran stated these attacks were in response to the alleged use of U.S. bases in the Gulf. These bases were reportedly used during the conflict against Iran. The targets included the Ali Al Salem Air Base. Ships in the Indian Ocean were also targeted.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced launching approximately 40 missiles. These targeted U.S. objectives and “Zionist entity” targets. This occurred on the fifth day of the raging Middle East conflict. It was part of the 17th wave of “Operation True Promise 4.” Iran’s state television reported this in a statement. No further details were provided.
