Italian Interior Minister, Luciana Lamorgese, will visit Libya and Tunisia, accompanied by the member of European Commission, Ilva Johansson, next May, to implement the measures and financial contribution related to the strategic partnership, according to the Italian Nova news agency.
Lamorgese reportedly made the announcement in her briefing before the Italian Chamber of Deputies. During the briefing, she also stated that the interior ministers of Libya, Tunisia and other Mediterranean countries, most exposed to migratory pressure, will come to Italy on June 3 “at my invitation to continue the dialogue aimed at defining the common position to be brought to the European negotiations on the Migration and Asylum Pact.”
The Italian minister noted that Libya and Tunisia are the main countries from which the migration flows affecting the Central Mediterranean route.
