The Head of EU Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) in Libya Jan Vyčítal and Foreign Ministry officials of the outgoing Government of National Unity (GNU) met in Tripoli to discuss the agenda of the first meeting of the new Joint Committee, according to EUBAM.
This committee, established in 2024 by the decision of the outgoing Prime Minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh, will oversee and coordinate activities between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Libyan counterparts, and EUBAM.
The first meeting is scheduled for 30th April at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EUBAM announced on X.
EUBAM said this is a positive step towards stronger collaboration on integrated border management in Libya.
