The American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Libya is preparing to lead a large delegation of Libyan businesspeople to OTC (Offshore Technology Conference) in Houston, Texas on 6-9 May, according to a press report the Chamber published on its official Facebook page.
OTC includes an exhibition of suppliers and a series of conferences focused on exchanging technical knowledge relevant to the development of energy resources, primarily oil and natural gas, says the report, originally published by Libya Herald news.
AmCham says OTC is the largest oil and gas sector trade show in the world. There are expected to be over 30,000 visitors and 1300 exhibitors. OTC includes attendees from around the globe, with more than 120 countries represented at recent conferences.
Debbie Hirst, President of AmCham Libya, said “We are very excited about the group going to OTC this year. This is the second year we have supported a delegation, and this year’s group is much larger than the previous one, so we are happy with the growing interest. This year we reached out to local chamber partners from around the country including the Benghazi, Misrata, Tripoli and Sebha Chambers of Commerce and the Libyan Businessmen Council, so we feel the delegation represents Libya well.
