US officials, Dbeibeh discuss Libyan military unification, says Embassy

U.S. political and military officials have met with the Libyan outgoing Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh where they discussed regional security and Libyan military unification, according to US Embassy in Tripoli.

“U.S. AFRICOM Deputy Commander, Lieutenant General John Brennan, U.S. Special Operations Command Africa Commander, Rear Admiral Ronald Foy, and Chargé d’Affaires Berndt were pleased to meet with GNU Prime Minister Dabaiba today,” the Embassy said on Tuesday.

“We discussed the regional security situation and the importance of working together with professional military officers across all of Libya to protect Libya’s sovereignty, to take tangible steps toward military reunification, and to help Libyans rebuild a unified, stable, and prosperous #Libya,” it pointed out.
