UN Deputy Envoy to Libya, Stephanie Koury, has said she had “constructive talks” in Cairo with the Foreign Minister of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, and other Egyptian officials responsible for the Libyan file.
“We discussed ways to reinvigorate the political process to end the current stalemate and put the country on a path of general elections,” Koury stated on X.
“We aligned on the need to preserve Libya’s unity and sovereignty, as well as the importance of coordinating international initiatives aimed at supporting Libyans in overcoming the current crisis and achieving sustained peace and stability,” she added.
