The official Spokeswoman for the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC), Najwa Wahiba, called on the American authorities to return the former intelligence officer Abu Agila Masud al-Mariami, who was extradited from Libya to Washington over alleged involvement in Lockerbie bombing in 1988.
Wahiba condemned handing over al-Mariami in a clip broadcast on LPC’s official Facebook page, part of which was obtained by the Libya Update before it was deleted from the page.
Wahiba also demanded that any US judicial requests against al-Mariami be dealt with within the framework of judicial cooperation mechanisms between the two countries and under the jurisdiction of the Libyan judiciary.
