Libya records 1038 new cases, 16 deaths of COVID-19

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) has reported on Sunday that 1,038 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 19 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 16 others died of the virus, while 1,208 have recovered during the same reporting period.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 333,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 249,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 4,533 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 161,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
