Libya records 499 new cases, 17 deaths of COVID-19

915 new people test positive for Coronavirus, 19 others dead in Libya

The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Tuesday that 499 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 11 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 17 others died of the virus, while 1,558 have recovered during the same reporting period.

181 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.

The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 358,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 300,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.

The virus has claimed the lives of 5,139 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 454,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
