The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Tuesday that 593 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 14 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 12 others died of the virus, while 1,923 have recovered during the same reporting period.
131 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 365,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 320,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,319 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 552,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
