The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 593 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 10 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 12 others died of the virus, while 2,415 have recovered during the same reporting period.
142 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 367,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 328,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,380 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 589,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
