The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 784 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 15 percent of the infection rate. The NCDC said that 8 others died of the virus, while 2,720 have recovered during the same reporting period.
134 people are in “critical” condition, said the NCDC.
The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have exceeded more than 371,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 341,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC.
The virus has claimed the lives of 5,438 people in total. Over a million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while more than 645,000 were fully vaccinated with two doses.
