The Government of National Unity is lifting the 24-hour curfew which it had imposed two weeks ago, while maintaining “precautionary and preventive measures”, the government announced on Saturday.
This comes after Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh came under wide criticism for holding a rally on Thursday evening, in violation of the curfew.
The curfew was intended to curb the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in the country.
