Amal Bugaighis, a member of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), has criticized the way with which Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh is handling the electricity crisis in the country, calling on the Libyan premier to take strong measures on this issue.
“It is not enough for us to simply reprimand and blame the Chairman of General Electricity Company and his devastated team,” Bugaighis said in a statement via her Facebook page.
“We rather ask that [GECOL chairman] be legally warned and given a one-week deadline so that the whole country witness a remarkable improvement in the electricity network, otherwise he should be sacked and replaced,” she added.
Addressing Dbeibeh, the LPDF member continued, “as you know, your main task was to improve services, but unfortunately your people and citizens have become without hope or work.”
