Abdel Razzaq Al-Aradi, a member of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF), revealed on Thursday that he is quitting the forum in protest against the presidential election law, which the House of Representatives passed recently.
Al-Aradi, who is also a leading figure in the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood, announced his withdrawal in an open-letter addressed to the U.N. Envoy Jan Kubis, which he described the presidential law as “flawed, “unilateral” and “bypasses the constitutional declaration and its amendments”.
He said the law will bring the country back to “the gates of a new war”, adding that the only solution to the country’s conflict is “for one party to control the entire territory of Libya”.
