Lt. Gen. Saddam Haftar Supervises Desert Patrols Securing Libyan Borders

Under the directives of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and the supervision of Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, the 12th Infantry Brigade has conducted extensive desert patrols to strengthen border security, safeguard national resources, and ensure the operational readiness of its forces.

The patrols began in the Gheelan area, where surrounding valleys were thoroughly inspected. The mission extended to Al-Hamada, passing through strategic locations including Awaina, Niine, Al-Hasi, Al-Douisa, Al-Hamara, Bir At-Tawil, and Ben Deqeesh, before reaching the Al-Atshan oil field.

The forces then advanced southward to Tinhaydan, reaching the Libyan-Algerian border. From there, the patrols proceeded to Bir Al-Hilou and Bir Al-Atshan Al-Ta’irah, stopping at the headquarters of the 121st Battalion’s Second Company in Idri. The operation concluded successfully with the brigade returning to its base at Brak Airbase without recording any breaches.
