The Libyan Ministry of Justice is planning to hold “in the coming weeks” a conference on “transitional justice and human rights”, which will be organized in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council, according to a statement by the Presidential Council today.
This statement was released following a meeting between Abdullah Al-Lafi, Deputy Chairman of the council, and Justice Minister Halima Al-Bousifi. They jointly discussed arrangements for the conference, including the participation of international experts, and the issue of prisoners and arbitrary detention, the council said.
