Rome – The Misrata Free Zone has signed two memorandums of understanding with the Association of Italian Industrialists for Africa and the Mediterranean, which is the international branch of the Italian Industrial Federation, and with the Libyan-Italian Chamber of Commerce. The agreements aim to expand the zone’s international partnerships and strengthen economic and investment cooperation between Libya and Italy.
The memorandums establish a framework for collaboration in investment, trade, logistics, ports, and industry. They are designed to attract Italian investment to the Misrata Free Zone, encourage joint ventures, and promote the exchange of economic and investment expertise and information.
The agreements include organizing economic forums, business meetings, and exchanges of commercial and investment delegations. They also provide for the launch of joint workshops and focus on institutional promotion, with the goal of creating a supportive environment for strategic partnerships between Libyan and Italian businesses. The partners also seek to capitalize on the Misrata Free Zone’s strategic location as a gateway to African markets.
This step follows a promotional tour organized by the Misrata Free Zone in Rome, intended to broaden its international ties and position the zone as a logistical and investment hub connecting Europe to Africa. The initiative also aims to attract high-quality investments and boost trade and economic development between the two countries.
