Mohamed al-Menfi, Chairman of Libya’s Presidential Council, held talks on Friday with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita on the sidelines of African Union Summit in Ethiopia.
According to a statement by the Libyan council, the two officials discussed “the latest developments regarding the political process in Libya, comprehensive national reconciliation, and maintaining the momentum of the elections”.
Al-Menfi and Bourita also reviewed “a number of common issues between the two brotherly countries”.
During the meeting, the Moroccan top diplomat expressed “his country’s keenness to restore peace and stability to Libya”. He also affirmed support for Tripoli to “cross the transitional phase through holding free and transparent elections with the participation of all Libyans.”
