Sirte – Sources from the National Development Agency confirmed that work teams have completed painting the road lanes as part of the Musa bin Nusayr dual carriageway paving project, which extends to the Animal Feed Factory road on the outskirts of Sirte city, as part of the plan to develop the city’s road networks.
The sources explained to the LANA correspondent in Sirte that the vital project is nearing the announcement of its readiness in the coming few days, to be officially integrated into the road system that will help alleviate traffic congestion within Sirte.
The road includes two roundabouts; the first connects the Musa bin Nusayr route with the Sirte city road and the Al-Gharbiyat neighborhood, and the second connects to the road leading to the Animal Feed Factory, enhancing the flow of entry and exit from the western side of the city.
The supervising authorities confirmed that the work has entered its final stage, which involves painting the curbs along the sidewalks, in preparation for completing the project before the end of this month. This will add a new vital route that enhances the efficiency of the traffic infrastructure.
The Musa bin Nusayr dual carriageway has a total length of 4.8 kilometers, featuring two carriageways of 2,400 meters each and a width of up to 7 meters per carriageway, forming a new traffic axis that contributes to reducing congestion within the city.
The project is also integrated with all accompanying services and facilities, including the construction of two roundabouts connecting a number of vital roads in the city, which enhances smooth traffic flow and reduces bottlenecks during peak hours.
This road is one of the components of the road network development plan within Sirte, implemented by the National Development Agency as part of a package of projects aimed at addressing road bottlenecks, improving transportation infrastructure, and supporting urban development in line with Libya’s Vision 2030.
