Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) has brought under control an oil spill at an offshore storage facility, the corporation said on Sunday.
The leak at the Farwah facility owned by Mabruk Oil Operations occurred while a tanker was loading oil on Friday, said NOC who also made assurance that spill did not negatively affect the country’s beaches.
“The emergency teams in the Corporation and its subsidiaries have shown a high and distinguished level and in dealing with this event,” NOC chairman Mustafa Sanalla was quoted as saying in the statement.
