A delegation of the heads of the Libyan oil companies affiliated to the National Oil Corporation (NOC) held a meeting with the US-Arab Bilateral Chamber of Commerce on March 9 in Houston, Texas, according to NOC.
The Libyan companies held the meeting to learn about the great role that the Chamber plays in the field of energy and the extent of its potential and capabilities to contribute to helping the oil sector in Libya, for by facilitating means of communication between NOC and its companies with a group of advanced American companies in the technical fields and advanced technology related to the activity of the Corporation and its subsidiary companies for the purpose of finding and creating opportunities for cooperation and providing the necessary support, NOC said in a statement.
The Chamber reviewed the work it has done in this field, which turned out to have a wide network of giant American companies in the field of energy through the membership of these companies in the Chamber of Commerce, and is ready to support NOC and its companies in the field of advanced technology and all other fields related to the oil industries, including supporting and assisting NOC in achieving and implementing its vision 2030 to reduce gas flaring, methane and carbon dioxide emissions, the statement pointed out.
The meeting touched on the support provided by the Chamber to the National Oil Corporation with regard to its participation in the conference, to be held in the U.S. during May, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, in which an NOC delegation will participate, it added.
The meeting concluded that communication between the US-Arab Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and the National Oil Corporation should continue to push for more participation, which aims to achieve the goals and aspirations of the National Corporation and contribute to raising the efficiency of workers in the sector and rebuilding the infrastructure of the oil sector to expand operations and increase and raise the level of production using all modern and advanced technologies relevant to the requirements and needs of the oil and energy sector.
The meeting was held in the presence of the Chairman of NOC Board of Directors for strategic projects and agreements, Moncef Al-Shalawi, and the Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Aida Araissi and, Head of the Global Trade Team,Pat Phelps.
