Angola and Libya overtook Nigeria as Africa’s largest crude oil producers, according to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
In its monthly report, OPEC stated that Angola was Africa’s largest oil producer crude oil during August with an average production of 1.187 million barrels per day.
Libya came in second place with an average production of 1.123 million barrels per day.
Libyan production saw a sharp increase of more than 426,000 barrels per day, compared to the month of July, when it had recorded an average production of 697 million barrels per day.
