A parliamentary committee has begun preparing a strategy to develop medical education outcomes. The committee held its first meeting. The Technical Committee for Supporting House of Representatives Decisions in Medical Education convened in Libya. This committee was formed by House of Representatives Speaker’s Decision No. 91 of 2025. Its mandate is to prepare a general strategy for developing medical education outcomes. The committee held its first meeting yesterday, Sunday. The meeting took place at the House of Representatives Diwan headquarters. Sultana Al-Mismari chaired the meeting. The Vice-Chairman of the House of Representatives Health Committee, Hassan Al-Zarqa, attended. Other committee members were also present.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed its work. They presented the current state of medical education in Libya. They identified the difficulties and challenges it faces. The committee further reviewed its concepts. They also reviewed the completed stages for preparing the general strategy. This strategy aims to develop medical education outcomes.
The committee announced it would hold another meeting. The Undersecretary of the Libyan Government’s Ministry of Health will attend.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Salem Al-Awajli, was also present. Mohammed Sasi, Head of the Medical Specialties Board, attended the meeting.
