Partial closure of Airport Road in Tripoli to begin maintenance work

Partial closure of Airport Road in Tripoli to begin maintenance work

The Traffic Affairs Office of the Tripoli Security Directorate has announced a partial closure of the Airport Road for traffic coming from the oil depots towards the city center, starting Sunday morning. This is to begin scraping and maintenance work as part of a plan to develop and improve the road’s infrastructure.

The office explained in a statement that the other lane will be converted to two-way traffic for the duration of the work to facilitate vehicle movement and ensure traffic flow. Necessary guidance and warning signs will be put in place, and traffic patrols will be assigned to secure the site and organize traffic safely and orderly.

The office called on all drivers to adhere to instructions and traffic signals and to reduce speed in the work zone for their own safety and the safety of the maintenance workers.

In a related context, the Airport Road in the capital, Tripoli, experienced a traffic jam early this morning due to a vehicle fire, with no injuries reported, according to the Tripoli Security Directorate. The directorate noted that the Abu Salim Traffic Department is currently working to clear the road and restore smooth traffic flow towards the city center.
