PFG members close oil pipeline leading to technical power difficulties, says GECOL

PFG members close oil pipeline leading to technical power difficulties, says GECOL
Members of the Libyan Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) closed the crude oil pipeline feeding a number of electric power production plants of the General Electricity Company (GECOL) with natural gas as the main fuel to operate the stations of Al-Ruwais, Al-Zawiya, Al-Khums, as well as part of the Misurata Station, according to GECOL.
The closure will lead to losing about 2500 megawatts, which will result in technical difficulties in meeting the increasing demand for electrical energy and the increase in load hours, especially in these days when temperatures are low, GECOL said in a statement on Monday.
