Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander of the Libyan National Army, officially launched the latest expansion of the Man-Made River Project, linking the Kufra, Al-Batnan, and Green Mountain regions. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Authority’s headquarters in Benghazi, was attended by Dr. Saad Boumtari, Chairman of the Man-Made River Authority.
According to the General Command’s media office, this project underscores the leadership’s commitment to strengthening Libya’s water security. The expanded pipeline network aims to ensure a stable supply of drinking water to the northeast, while also promoting sustainable agricultural and industrial growth in the region.
