Libya – Libyan political analyst Omar Abu Saida described the visit of Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir to Libya as “pivotal.” He emphasized it was not merely a fleeting military protocol. Instead, it was a strategic stop. This stop aims to reshape balances in regional and Libyan security files.
Speaking to Al-Nahar newspaper, Abu Saida stated that Pakistan, with its military and political weight, is a regional power. It possesses advanced expertise in counter-terrorism. It also excels in securing borders. Furthermore, it deals with cross-border challenges.
He believes Pakistan’s presence in Libya indicates growing international recognition of the role played by the Libyan National Army’s leadership. He sees it as the most cohesive and organized institution. It can be a reliable partner. This partnership would build an effective security system.
Abu Saida added that the cooperation agreement opens advanced military and security partnership prospects. These are with a nation possessing one of Asia’s strongest armies. He believes this enhances international confidence. It strengthens faith in the Libyan military institution’s ability to control borders. It also boosts its capacity to combat terrorism and ensure stability.
