Benghazi – Benghazi University celebrated tonight, Tuesday. The event marked the 70th anniversary of the Libyan University’s founding. The celebration took place at the Research and Consultancy Center. It was attended by University President Dr. Ezzedine Al-Dersi. Dean of the Faculty of Media, Dr. Mohammed Al-Manfi, was also present. Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Ahmed Najm, attended. Faculty members were also in attendance.
The celebration featured a scientific lecture. Dr. Hassan Al-Madani Karim, a faculty member at the Faculty of Arts, Sirte, delivered it. He reviewed the university’s history since its establishment 70 years ago. This included the university’s first annual report from 1955 and 1956. He highlighted the university’s scientific, sports, and cultural activities. He also discussed the challenges the university faced in its early days.
Dr. Hassan Al-Madani Karim stated to a reporter from ‘WAL’. The celebration aims to commemorate the founding of Libya’s first higher education institution. This institution contributed to building the modern state. The lecture included a visual presentation. It highlighted the university’s historical milestones since its inception. This reflects its academic and social contributions over past decades.
