Sirte – Sirte University will host the Fourth International Conference of the Libyan Society for Infertility and Disease Treatment. The event will run from May 14 to 16. It will see broad participation from all Libyan infertility centers. Visiting consultant doctors from Egypt, Jordan, Sudan, and Syria will also attend.
Dr. Mona Al-Qubbi spoke to the Libyan News Agency. She heads the Gynecology Department at Sirte University’s College of Human Medicine. Dr. Al-Qubbi also chairs the conference. She noted the event will feature wide participation from elite doctors and specialists. A comprehensive scientific program will be presented. It will cover various aspects of infertility and women’s diseases.
Participants will discuss several key themes. These include the fundamentals and causes of infertility. The conference will define infertility scientifically. It will also address its various types. Factors affecting fertility in men and women will be examined. These factors include age, lifestyle, and chronic diseases. Environmental and genetic influences will also be covered.
Advanced infertility diagnosis will be a key focus. The latest clinical evaluation methods will be reviewed. Hormonal and laboratory tests will be discussed. Modern imaging techniques will also be highlighted. Genetic tests will be explored for accurate diagnosis.
The conference will address women’s diseases impacting fertility. Topics include polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. Fibroids, ovulation disorders, and chronic inflammation will also be covered. Male infertility will also be discussed. This includes causes of sperm weakness. Hormonal disorders and varicocele will be examined. The latest diagnostic and treatment techniques for male infertility will also be presented.
Participants will also explore medical and surgical treatments. These include ovulation stimulation and hormonal therapy. Endoscopic surgical interventions will be reviewed. Treatment of correctable causes will also be discussed. Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) will be showcased. This includes artificial insemination and in vitro fertilization. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection will be covered. Embryo and egg freezing will be addressed. Preimplantation genetic screening will also be presented.
