Deputy President of the Libyan Presidential Council (PC), Abdulla al-Lafi, discussed with the Chargé d’Affairs of the Egyptian Embassy in Libya, Tamer Mustafa, a number of issues of common interest, ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, and the latest developments of the political process in Libya.
The Presidential Council said that Al-Lafi stressed the depth of the historical relations that unite the two brotherly countries, praising Egypt’s role in supporting national reconciliation efforts in Libya, and its efforts in sponsoring some tracks of the Libyan dialogue.
He added that the Egyptian Chargé d’Affairs reiterated Cairo’s keenness to support a peaceful solution to the Libyan crisis, in a manner that guarantees security and stability in the country, in order to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people by holding parliamentary and presidential elections with the participation of all Libyans.
