Qatar Embassy in Libya Denies Circulating Allegations and Reaffirms Commitment to Non-Interference in Libyan Affairs

Tripoli – The Embassy of Qatar in Libya expressed surprise over social media reports alleging its involvement in or funding of activities or initiatives with a social dimension inside Libya.

In a statement released Thursday, the embassy said these claims are baseless and not supported by any official information or position from Qatar. The embassy reaffirmed its firm commitment to non-interference in Libya’s internal affairs and to refraining from supporting any unofficial initiatives.

The embassy urged the public to ensure accuracy when sharing information and to rely on credible, official sources. It warned against spreading misleading news that could result in misunderstandings or incorrect interpretations of diplomatic positions.

Qatar reiterated its ongoing diplomatic efforts to support stability in Libya and strengthen the fraternal relations between the two countries. The statement emphasized that these efforts align with principles of respecting sovereignty and avoiding interference in the internal affairs of other nations.

The embassy concluded by stressing that Qatar’s official positions are clear and consistent, focusing on supporting security, stability, and development, and rejecting any false claims or inaccurate interpretations.
