Benghazi – Residents of the Budzayra neighborhood in Benghazi have issued an urgent appeal to the local council. They called for their concerns to be relayed to the Libyan Reconstruction and Development Fund.
The residents are asking for immediate action to rebuild the area and launch development projects that address their essential needs. They stressed the importance of turning these demands into concrete solutions on the ground.
Residents said the neighborhood faces frequent electricity problems. They noted that simply repairing faults and replacing cables is no longer enough. They urged authorities to implement new and comprehensive solutions to permanently resolve the electricity crisis.
Regarding water, residents reported a severe shortage affecting most people in the area. They said no fundamental solutions have reached them so far.
The community also called for road paving, the installation of safety barriers along the wall of the local company and inside residential neighborhoods, and the construction and expansion of new road routes. They asked for the use of asphalt in the remaining areas to improve traffic flow.
On health services, residents urged the creation of a comprehensive health center offering various important medical specialties. They said a new center would have a direct impact on treating patients and easing their suffering.
In education, locals requested the construction of both a general and secondary school in the area. They said this would provide a suitable learning environment and accommodate more students.
Residents also highlighted the need for improved security and organization. They called for a police station within the neighborhood and the removal of encroachments on main roads.
In closing, Budzayra residents appealed to officials responsible for development projects across Libya to listen to their voices and respond quickly to their demands. They expressed hope these projects will drive progress and improve living conditions in the area.
