The Libyan Red Crescent Society, in cooperation with the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, announced the launch of the major maneuver “Responders” in the city of Derna, today, Saturday at 4:00 PM, with the participation of rapid response teams alongside about fifty soldiers from the Armed Forces.
The maneuver, which will last for seven continuous hours, aims to raise the level of readiness to face disasters and emergencies, enhance the capabilities of rescue and field ambulance teams, as well as test evacuation plans and coordination between various national agencies.
The organization of this maneuver comes with direct support from the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, as part of enhancing the Libyan Red Crescent’s ability to perform its noble humanitarian mission and respond effectively in crises.
Earlier, the Secretary-General of the Libyan Red Crescent Society, Marei Al-Darsi, announced the launch of an initiative to establish the first national team specialized in disaster management under the name “The National Disaster Response Team,” confirming that this step will be implemented soon.
The maneuver will be monitored through an advanced central operations room connected to 38 Red Crescent branches throughout Libya, ensuring the highest levels of coordination and rapid response.
