Al-Bayda – Technical teams from the Ministry of Electricity’s maintenance department have addressed an emergency fault. The fault occurred at the 66 kV Radio Station in the city of Al-Bayda. It followed a widespread power outage across many of the city’s neighborhoods. This caused several lines to go out of service, with the blackout lasting until Thursday evening.
Specialized teams moved to the site immediately after receiving the report. They conducted a thorough inspection to determine the cause. The investigation found a break in a conductor on the power transmission circuit feeding the station. This resulted in a loss of electrical supply to many areas connected to the network.
To manage the situation, there was direct coordination between the 220 kV Al-Jabal Al-Akhdar control center and the Eastern Regional Control. The goal was to redistribute electrical loads and reduce the impact of the outage. As a result, a significant portion of the load was transferred from the Radio Station to the East Al-Bayda station. This helped reduce the scope of the blackout during the repair work.
After several hours of continuous work, the technical teams fully repaired the fault. Power was then restored gradually according to approved technical procedures. Service has now been completely restored to all affected areas.
The outage affected the Bousultan, Al-Manar, Al-Mokhtar, and Revolutionary Guard neighborhoods within Al-Bayda. It also included large parts of Wardama, Shahat, and the Al-Faydiya area.
