Senior international diplomats gathered in Rome on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Libya.
The interlocutors included the U.N. Advisor on Libya Stephanie Williams as well as foreign ministers and diplomatic representatives of France, United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Turkey and Russia.
According to a statement by the Qatari foreign ministry, the meeting was “an opportunity to hold an open discussion on recent developments in Libya and to promote a coherent international position in support of the Libyan-led and UN-facilitated political process.”
