Following the meeting held by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, with the European Union delegation, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, met at the General Command headquarters in Benghazi with the EU Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Nicola Orlando, the Commander of the EU Naval Operation (IRINI), Admiral Marco Casapieri, the Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM), Mr. Jan Vyčítal, and their accompanying delegation.
The meeting focused on discussing issues of mutual interest and exploring the prospects of existing cooperation between the European Union and the General Command, particularly regarding border security and combating illegal migration, in addition to several other topics related to regional stability.
