As part of his engagement in social events, Deputy General Commander of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, met in Benghazi with the mayors, elders, and dignitaries of the Awlad Ali tribes from the Arab Republic of Egypt, along with a number of Libyan tribal elders and dignitaries. The meeting was also attended by several military and security leaders to affirm the distinguished historical and social ties that unite the two brotherly peoples of Libya and Egypt.
The Deputy General Commander welcomed the distinguished guests, conveying the greetings of the General Commander of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar, and his great appreciation for their status and role. He emphasized the deep fraternal relations that bind Libya and Egypt under the leadership of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
The elders and dignitaries of the Awlad Ali tribes extended their congratulations to Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar on his appointment as Deputy General Commander, wishing him success in his national duties.
During the meeting, the Deputy General Commander highlighted the high standing of the Awlad Ali tribes as a strong bridge connecting the Libyan and Egyptian peoples. He praised the role of the mayors, elders, and dignitaries in preserving the social fabric, maintaining unity, and strengthening the bonds of brotherhood to ensure security and stability and to serve the common destiny of the two countries.
Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar also offered his condolences to the Awlad Ali tribe on the passing of their late son, asking Allah to forgive him and grant him paradise.
