Brega – The Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, First Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, visited the city of Brega, where he was received by a gathering of the city’s sheikhs, dignitaries, and residents.

During the meeting, First Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar conveyed the greetings and appreciation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar, for the important role played by the tribes and social components of Brega. He praised what he described as their “deep-rooted national values” and the sacrifices made by the city’s sons in defense of the homeland.

The Deputy Commander-in-Chief emphasized that “the cohesion of the social fabric is the nation’s safety valve,” commending the historical stances of the people of Brega, from their struggle against colonialism and their role in the Battle of Dignity, to their “courageous stand in the War of the Fields to protect the resources of the Libyan people from tampering and sabotage.”

First Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar also stressed that the Armed Forces “have been and will remain a pillar of support for its people throughout Libya.” He affirmed that citizen security and societal stability are top priorities and that they are working hand-in-hand with “the loyal sons of the nation” to build a state of law and institutions.
