Cairo – In a move reflecting the strength of strategic relations and military cooperation between Libya and Egypt, the Deputy General Commander of the Libyan Armed Forces, First Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, attended the graduation ceremony for new classes of military academies in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
First Lt. Gen. Saddam Haftar’s participation came in response to an official invitation from his Egyptian counterpart, General Abdel Meguid Sakr, Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production.
The ceremony, which was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Fathi Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Egyptian Armed Forces, and a number of senior military leaders, witnessed the graduation of a new class of officers from the Libyan Armed Forces who completed their studies and training at Egypt’s prestigious military institutions. The graduating classes also included officers from several other allied and friendly nations, highlighting Egypt’s pivotal role in regional military education and training.
This high-level participation underscores the continued close coordination and cooperation between the military leaderships of Libya and Egypt, and their shared commitment to enhancing capabilities and exchanging expertise to confront common challenges and support regional security and stability.
The graduation of Libyan officers from Egyptian military academies is a direct result of long-standing cooperation protocols between the two countries, aimed at elevating the combat and scientific proficiency of Libyan military personnel in line with the latest training methodologies and curricula.
