Sabha – Two new direct flights were launched Friday from Sabha International Airport. The first flight, operated by Berniq Airways, carried 170 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. The second, operated by Al-Buraq, traveled from Sabha to Alexandria, Egypt.
The flights were inaugurated in cooperation with the Office for Vital Facilities Operations at the National Development Agency. Representatives from Al-Buraq, Berniq’s ground and aviation services, the airport director, and the mayor of Sabha attended the ceremony, under the supervision of the Vital Facilities Operations Office.
Officials said the launch aims to boost airport activity and expand available destinations. The move is intended to strengthen the airport’s role as a regional air hub for southern Libya, connecting Sabha with more international locations.
