Sebha – Sebha University President, Masoud Al-Raqeeq, discussed with the Mayor of Al-Bawanis Municipality, Hassan Al-Sibani, during a meeting held yesterday, Monday, ways to enhance joint cooperation between the two sides to serve the community and the environment. This comes within the framework of supporting institutional communication and developing areas of partnership between the university and the municipality.
The two sides discussed the possibility of implementing training and qualification programs for municipal employees through the university’s specialized colleges and centers, in addition to cooperating in the fields of applied studies and research that serve the municipality’s projects and development plans. The meeting also addressed utilizing the academic expertise at Sebha University to support development initiatives within the municipality’s scope.
The meeting addressed mechanisms for facilitating procedures that enhance joint work and developing follow-up plans to ensure the implementation of the proposed programs to achieve the desired goals.
For his part, Al-Sibani praised the university’s efforts and its pioneering role in serving the community, stressing the municipality’s aspiration to expand the horizons of cooperation with higher education and scientific research institutions in a way that contributes to supporting local development.
In a related context, the Al-Bawanis Municipal Council received a delegation from the Sebha Public Property Authority, where a joint meeting was held in the presence of council members, the Diwan’s Undersecretary, and members of the authority’s specialized committee to discuss coordination mechanisms and the importance of unifying efforts to protect and preserve public state property.
Following the meeting, a field tour was organized that included the public market buildings in Samnu, Al-Zighan, and Tamanhint to inspect their conditions and identify their needs.
