The United Nations Security Council will hold Thursday a consultative session to discuss the latest developments in Libya.
Chairman of the UN Security Council Sanctions Committee is scheduled to give a briefing on the committee’s latest activities on Libya, as well as other briefings to members of the Council on the work of the UN mission.
The members of the Security Council had voted unanimously on a British draft resolution to extend the mandate of the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) for an additional three months, amid a Russian-American dispute over the issue of appointing a new UN envoy to succeed the resigned Jan Kubis.
