Sirte Free Zone pavilion at the Oman Agricultural and Food Exhibition welcomed on Monday visits from high-level diplomatic figures on the sidelines of the exhibition’s first day, according to the zone media office.
Through its participation in this conference, the Sirte Free Zone aims to highlight its strategic role in the Mediterranean basin, transit trade, and the enhancement of international cooperation at various levels.
Representatives of the Sirte Free Zone received Dr. Saud bin Hamoud Al Habsi, Minister of Agricultural, Fisheries, and Water Resources, at their pavilion. He was introduced to the objectives of the Sirte Free Zone, the investment opportunities and incentives it offers, and its unique advantages. The representatives invited him to visit Sirte and encouraged Omani investors and companies to invest in Sirte and Libya amidst the region’s stability and economic resurgence.
The pavilion also received a visit from Libya’s Ambassador to Muscat, Hajar Amr Al-Nami, who learned about the zone’s vision, work progress, and the scope of projects by the National Development Agency in Sirte, which support the ideal environment for the Sirte Free Zone. The ambassador expressed her great pride in the zone’s presence and strong participation in such international events.
Additionally, the pavilion welcomed the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman, who was introduced to the Sirte Free Zone and its geographical advantages. He was invited to visit Libya and Sirte, and he expressed the interest of Uzbek companies in opening up to the Libyan market, particularly in establishing factories and providing specialized labor.
