Benghazi – Many children with autism suffer from difficulties in communication, learning, and social integration, which affects their psychological and behavioral growth and development. The challenges increase in the absence of early support and a suitable environment that meets their special needs.
Basma Bousseif, a specialist in special education and sensory integration, emphasized the importance of early intervention in enabling children with autism to reach their full potential, stressing that this intervention makes a real difference in their future.
Bousseif explained that early intervention is the cornerstone for children to access real education and achieve better integration into society. She affirmed that relying on scientific foundations and proper professional performance transforms the experience from a limitation that hinders the child into an opportunity that makes them a productive and beneficial person.
She also noted that the responsibility for the child’s rehabilitation lies first with the family, in integration with community institutions, to create a safe and supportive environment that enables them to be an active and influential individual. She added that a child with autism is not a field for experiments but needs genuine care and attention.
In conclusion, Basma Bousseif stressed the importance of joint work between the family and the community to empower children with autism to achieve their potential and integrate effectively into society.
