The United Nations Support Mission in Libya announced that the governance and security tracks in the Structured Dialogue in Tripoli have resumed their in-person meetings simultaneously.
The mission facilitates these meetings. They will continue for the next four days. Participants will focus on several issues. These include governance, conflict prevention, and stability. The goal is to reach practical and implementable recommendations. This will help create favorable conditions.
This work aligns with the UN’s mandate. The mandate is to support a comprehensive political process. UNSMIL uses its good offices to facilitate this inclusive process. The process is Libyan-led and Libyan-owned. It aims to foster consensus.
This consensus will create an environment suitable for national elections. It also seeks to unify state institutions. It will enhance their capabilities. The ultimate goal is long-term stability in Libya.
