London – Hanna Tetteh, the Acting Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, met Tuesday in London with Stephen Doughty, the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa.
The two officials discussed recent political and economic developments in Libya. They emphasized the importance of building on the momentum generated by the recent mini-summit agreement. Both sides agreed this would help advance the comprehensive political process, pave the way for unifying state institutions, and set the stage for national elections as outlined in the agreement.
Tetteh thanked Doughty for the UK’s support of the UN mission’s efforts to promote stability in Libya. She also praised London’s role in hosting the upcoming mini-summit scheduled for Wednesday.
