Benghazi – The Director-General of the Ambulance and Emergency Service, Salem Hassan, has ordered a state of high alert. This is to address severe weather and heavy rainfall affecting most of eastern Libya.
Agency spokesman Ibrahim Belhassan confirmed the directive. He stated that all specialized teams across the eastern coast are fully prepared. They are ready to handle any emergencies.
Belhassan added that the service is coordinating with security and other agencies. This ensures an effective response to reports from residents in eastern cities.
The spokesman urged all citizens to adhere to safety measures. People should stay away from wadi channels. They must also avoid low-lying areas at risk of flooding during the heavy rains.
